The Jack Stonefield Foundation has been set up to raise money for charities specialising in caring for children with cancer and their families.
Jack was a very special little boy, who contracted a rare cancer when he was seven years old. He bravely fought the illness, but sadly passed away in May 2004. In his memory, the monies are donated to benefit other children in similar circumstances.
After Jack’s death two sponsored walks were organised which raised over £30,000 which was used to upgrade the parents’ accommodation at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital where Jack had been treated over a period of nearly five months.
Organisations who have benefited from the Foundation
In the past year, the 100+ Club has made grants of in excess of £10,000 to the following organisations:-
Francis House: This organisation, based in Stockport, offers the families of very sick children a respite from their role as carers and gives the children a loving home from home.
Camp Simcha: A holiday camp for sick children.
Friends of Rachashei Lev: A national support centre for cancer-stricken children from all backgrounds in Israel.
Make-A-Wish Foundation: Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
Ezer Mizion: The International Jewish Bone Marrow Registry
